SBAG PARENT SUPPORT GROUPS

Want to talk with another parent about cathing issues?  Looking for a rec program for wheelchair sports?  Daily care and responsibilities getting you down? 

Sharing similar experiences and receiving each other’s support in casual groups each month has proven invaluable for members of the first SBAG Parent Support Group located in Cobb County.

SBAG is in the process of replicating this successful outreach program by establishing parent support groups in all four quadrants of the greater Atlanta metro area, along with additional parent support groups in the growing Hispanic community.

SBAG is also planning to establish a group in Augusta, Dalton and Rome during 2008.

Groups are now being formed with 10-20 families who will meet bi-monthly at a centralized location for chats over coffee or lunch.  During the opposite months, members of all SBAG Parent Support Groups will meet at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite for a casual Q&A session with a physician or healthcare professional. 

To accommodate the schedules of interested parents, the meeting days and times may vary to meet the needs of each particular group.
