WALK ‘N ROLL FOR SPINA BIFIDA 

Created to be an annual fundraising event, the first Walk ‘N Roll for Spina Bifida in 2006 was a great success – 100 participants raised more than $20,000.

Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual Walk 'N Roll for Spina Bifida, which will be held at North Park in Alpharetta, GA on Sunday, October 14, 2007. 

The fundraising event to benefit the Spina Bifida Association of GA will follow the same structure as last year, with a full one-mile walk, followed by a picnic for all participants. 

Registration kits are available online (see registration instructions below), at the Spina Bifida Clinic held at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and also soon at participating clinic physicians' offices.  Kits will also be mailed to individuals and families in the SBAG database.

Registration for the Walk is $25 per person, which includes a T-shirt and picnic lunch; the maximum registration fee per immediate family is $100.

Participating individuals and families are encouraged to raise $100 in sponsorship donations. 

"Last year for our very first Walk, our families worked very hard and raised $20,000 above the costs for the event.  This year, we've set our goal higher -- to $30,000, so we hope everyone will again lend their strong participation," announced committee co-chairs Johanna Fell and Linda Preuss.

"We already have several sponsors, so we are very optimistic about the success of this year’s efforts.  We generated a great deal of support from the community last year and we now building on a greater awareness of spina bifida.

SBAG Executive Director Jim Okula said plans are underway for staging a Walk also in Columbus, GA this year.

"We want to call attention to children and adults with spina bifida in the greater Columbus area, which represents the second largest population of individuals with spina bifida in Georgia."

Awards will be given again for the individual and team which raise the largest donations.  Last year's winning team raised over $3,000.

To Register online now follow the steps below. T-shirt orders can be completed while you register for the event online.

1. First print the Walk N Roll for Spina Bifida Informational Brochure for your reference.

2. Next Print the Registration Kit to obtain the Sponsorship Donations form and SBAG Walk N Roll Waiver. Your team must use the Sponsorship Donations form to collect your sponsors information and pre-paid sponsorship donations. The Sponsorship Donations Form can be copied if necessary. The Waiver must also be reviewed and signed by every participant. Directions are provided on both forms. Both forms and donations are to be submited upon arrival during registration at 12pm.

3. Now you can complete the Online Registration Form. We suggest gathering your teams preferred T-shirt sizes before continueing. Carefully follow the directions on the Form. Click on the button below to Continue.

4. Arrive at the Walk on October 14, 2007 at 12pm. Bring your completed Sponsorship Donations forms, pre-paid sponsorship donations, a signed SBAG Walk N Roll Waiver and a smile. We look forward to seeing you there.

3. Order your T-shirts for you and your team by calling SBAG at 770.939.1044 or fax 770.939.1049. A list of T-shirt sizes are printed on the bottom of the first page to assist you with collecting your teams preffered sizes before you call to order. All T-shirt orders must be recieved by October 1st.

4. Your team must use the Sponsorship Donations form on the second page of the kit to collect your sponsors information and pre-paid sponsorship donations. The Sponsorship Donations Form can be copied if necessary.

5. The SBAG Walk N Roll Waiver is found on the third page of the kit. The Waiver must be reviewed and signed by every participant.

6. Arrive at the Walk on October 14, 2007 at 12pm. Bring your completed Registration Kit, pre-paid sponsorship donations, registration fees and a smile. We look forward to seeing you there.
